Priming and Tiling

Screed Surface Preparation

Preparation of the screed surface is advised only for areas which are going to be receiving an adhesive or glue.

DRY IT
SAND IT
VACUUM IT
PRIME IT

Make sure the screed is dry

– Run dehumidifiers with the building sealed.
– Run the underfloor heating with the windows open.
– Make sure the floor has had a complete heat cycle.
– Let the floor cool back down fully.

Remove loose material

The laitance can be removed using a stiff broom the next day.

Sanding of any screed is recommended to remove any loose material including plaster.

Prime

Vacuum the floor and if required sand the floor.

Prime the floor using 1 coat of Acrylic primer.
