Spray Rendering Overview

Monocouche render is a decorative finish applied to buildings or walls to provide a decorative finish and also help with weather protection.
It was first launched in France over 30 years ago , the word mono means one layer or one coat.

The French term monocouche was adopted by the European rendering market, to attempt to distinguish modern rendering and their application methods from those of traditional sand & cement render and their slow hand applied application methods. Its was a innovative development of a more advanced rendering process that can be applied in one coat to form and cure as one monolithic layer on the elevation of a building.

Monocouche renderers are also know as A through colour render or a scraped finish render , which are also indications that the monocouche product has been employed.

The formulation of Weber Pral m render is distinguished using White Portland Cement as a binder which then enables the formula to be pigmented. The addition of pigments give Weber Pral m the opportunity to produce a colour range and employ the term through colour render as when the product is applied and finished the pigment will bind in place, all the way through the body of the render.

This factor is what makes the biggest difference between modern day spray rendering & old school hand applied sand & render that use grey standard grey Portland cement and hence cannot be pigmented. Traditional Sand & cement render had to receive a mist coat of paint and several layers of topcoats to achieve a coloured decorative finish.

We only use the best Monocouche render which over years experimenting with them all we decided to only use Weber Pral M which we found the best on the market. it’s a modern one coat render which is machine applied for the best results , small areas can also be hand applied . It’s colour pigmented , which means it doesn’t require painting which is a big cost saving, Weber Pral M render is a hard wearing , low maintenance weather resistant which leaves a stunning finish to a large range of brick & blockwork properties.
